In one of the most exciting announcements of 2017, a day on the green, in conjunction with Chugg Entertainment, is thrilled to announce SIR ELTON JOHN will perform one very special outdoor concert at Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley.

Due to unprecedented demand from fans, the iconic superstar will play one Victorian show only on Sunday October 1 as part of his Once In A Lifetime Australian tour.

Promoter of the Once In A Lifetime tour, Michael Chugg, said: “The demand was too great to ignore. The response when we went on sale was over the top – Elton’s shows sold out in minutes. A lot of people from the southern states did not get a chance to buy trips to Cairns or Mackay before the shows sold out. The amount of emails, calls and messages on social media wanting a show in Victoria was overwhelming and so when Elton asked to do a Victorian show we thought a day on the green was the perfect fit.”

Sir Elton performed at one a day on the green concert during his last Australian tour in December 2015 and promoter Michael Newton said the event was thrilled to welcome him back.

“We have presented so many great shows in the Yarra Valley over the last 15 years and being able to secure Sir Elton is a real highlight,” Michael said. “He is an iconic artist with a career spanning decades and so many special songs. It’s going to be an incredible night.”

Since announcing his regional Australian tour, demand for tickets has been through the roof with shows in Mackay, Wollongong and Cairns selling out on the first day and Hobart selling out in eight minutes.

This will be Sir Elton’s first ever performance in the Yarra Valley and promises to be a spectacular and memorable concert to be enjoyed by the whole family. Sir Elton will be on stage at 6.00pm.

Joining Elton at a day on the green will be chart-topping Queensland duo BUSBY MAROU, recently announced as supports for Sir Elton’s entire Australian tour, and Melbourne singer-songwriter CHRIS WATTS.

The concert will feature iconic hits and classic album tracks from his incredible five-decade career, including a selection of songs from his highly acclaimed album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which celebrated its 40th anniversary with a Deluxe Edition.

ELTON JOHN’S band includes Nigel Olsson on drums, part of Elton's original three-piece band, as well as musical director and guitarist Davey Johnstone (who first recorded with Elton in 1971 and joined the band a year later), Matt Bissonette on bass, John Mahon on percussion, and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

October 17, 1971 marked ELTON JOHN’S first performance in Australia when he appeared at Subiaco Stadium, Perth. He has since played 186 concerts across the country to more than 1.5 million people.

Sir Elton is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 38 gold and 31 platinum or multi-platinum albums, as well as 58 Billboard Top 40 singles in the United States, and sales of more than 250 million records worldwide. He holds the record for the biggest-selling single of all time, Candle in the Wind 1997, which sold 33 million copies, as well as for the most appearances on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart, with his most recent single, A Good Heart (from 2016’s Wonderful Crazy Night), marking his 72nd entry. He has also written the music for stage and screen successes Billy Elliot: The Musical, Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, and The Lion King, which was named the highest-grossing stage show in the world.

Among the many awards and honours bestowed upon Sir Elton are five Grammys, a Grammy Legend Award, a Tony, an Oscar, a Best British Male Artist BRIT Award, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honor, Legend of Live Award, 12 Ivor Novello Awards and a knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II for services to music and charities.
