PAUL KELLY & RUFUS WAINWRIGHT CONCERT CANCELLED -JOSEF CHROMY WINES, LAUNCESTON - SUN FEB 21

PAUL KELLY & RUFUS WAINWRIGHT CONCERT CANCELLED
JOSEF CHROMY WINES, LAUNCESTON - SUNDAY FEBRUARY 21
It is with great regret that Roundhouse Entertainment, promoters of ‘a day on the green’, advise that the concert scheduled for Sunday February 21 at Josef Chromy Wines with Paul Kelly/Rufus Wainwright and The Church has been cancelled.
Chugg Entertainment and Gaynor Crawford Presents, promoters of Rufus Wainwright’s national tour, have advised that the Canadian singer/songwriter has been forced to cancel the tour due to an illness in the family.
The promoters and artist sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that the cancellation has caused, and hope that Rufus’ fans can appreciate the difficult and unfortunate circumstances surrounding the decision.
The ‘a day on the green’ concert featured Wainwright, Paul Kelly and The Church.
The Rufus Wainwright tour will be rescheduled for later in the year and patrons who have purchased tickets will be granted access to an exclusive pre-sale, allowing the first right to tickets to the rescheduled dates – either as ‘a day on the green’ or Chugg Entertainment indoor shows - once these are confirmed in the coming weeks.
Promoter Michael Newton said: “We are all incredibly disappointed that Rufus has had to cancel his tour. Unfortunately we have no time to secure another artist of the same calibre to replace him as the co-headline act, which makes it economically unviable to continue with the show. We hope we will see Rufus at ‘a day on the green’ next summer.”
Patrons will receive a full refund. For all tickets purchased via the internet or Ticketmaster phone line, customers will automatically be refunded onto the purchasing credit card. For all outlet bookings, customers are required to return to the point of purchase where a full refund will be issued.
To make up for any inconvenience, all ticket holders will also be contacted next week with a special discounted offer for any of the other ‘a day on the green’ events this summer.
The Paul Kelly/Rufus Wainwright/The Church show was the second ‘a day on the green’ to be announced as part of the popular winery event’s return to Tasmania in 2010. The Tom Jones concert takes place on Monday March 8.
“The response to both shows has been fantastic and it is disappointing that we will now only have one event at our new home at Josef Chromy Wines. However with an artist like Tom Jones, we are definitely in for a memorable and incredible evening and we look forward to many more ‘a day on the green’ concerts in the future.”
