PAUL KELLY
With special guests RUFUS WAINWRIGHT and THE CHURCH

JOSEF CHROMY WINES – SUNDAY FEBRUARY 21

After the fantastic response to the Tom Jones ‘a day on the green’ concert, promoters Roundhouse Entertainment are pleased to announce a second event at Josef Chromy Wines!

Aussie legend Paul Kelly will head an all-star line-up for this second and final show of the summer on Sunday February 21. Acclaimed Canadian singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright and the brilliant Church are the special guest support artists.

Three wonderful artists on the same bill at one of the country’s most picturesque locations – we’re excited!

Tickets to this event are all General Admission for $89 plus b/fee, with Reserved GA tickets at the front of the stage for $125 plus b/fee. Patrons BYO picnic rugs or deckchairs.

PAUL KELLY started 2009 in full ‘a day on the green’ mode supporting Leonard Cohen on his Aussie jaunt, then headed out for his ‘Paul Kelly A-Z” tour performing songs from his astonishing back catalogue.

The eight time ARIA Award winner and ARIA Hall of Fame inductee is a true national treasure who deserves his iconic status. Paul and his band will be showcasing classic songs from last year’s Greatest Hits – “Songs From The South, Vols 1 & 2”, such as “To Her Door”, ‘From St Kilda To Kings Cross’, ‘Careless’, ‘Before Too Long’, ‘Dumb Things’ and ‘Last Train’.

Kelly’s creative juices are flowing as strongly as ever and his live concerts are a timely reminder of why has endured as one of our most popular performers.

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT is affectionately referred to by Elton John as “the greatest songwriter on the planet” and praised by The New York Times for his "genuine originality". He is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, and brother of Martha Wainwright but has found his own niche as one of the most eclectic and captivating talents of the past decade.

Dabbling in rock, opera and theatre, his latest and fifth studio album “Release The Stars” was described by the UK Observer as “complex, melodramatic, ambitious, vain, beautiful and frequently magnificent!” He has just released a second solo album and accompanying DVD, “Milwaukee at Last!!!” – again to rave reviews.

Rufus was last in Tasmania as part of his 2008 national tour and has a very strong fan base eagerly-awaiting his return. This prodigious wunderkind will perform solo and will have the audience spellbound.

What is there left to say about THE CHURCH? After 30 years of recording and performing, the band is as vital and prolific as ever. Their 2009 album ‘Untitled #23’ received amazing reviews and is the latest instalment in one of the longest, richest streams of creative endeavour in Australian music history. The Church completed another hugely successful tour of the US and Canada in 2009, followed by a sold out Australian jaunt. Their live shows continue to thrill.
